We are looking for an energetic leader with strong organizational skills who loves working with a variety of people.
Our ideal partner will have the experience and organizational skills to quickly help manage our existing children and youth Unitarian Universalist-based religious programs.
They will work very closely with our Minister and experienced volunteers.
Responsibilities ? Plan, organize and manage our RE program for youth (pre-K through high school), including youth-led services, and social justice learning experiences.
? Recruit, train, supervise and support volunteer LRE teachers and lay leaders.
? Lead or assist in RE classes and Youth Group settings, as needed.
? Coordinate and attend Religious Education special events such as potlucks, social justice projects, intentional multi-generational programs and events.
? Provide guidance for Coming of Age and High School Bridging rites of passages.
? Create and coordinate opportunities for children and youth participation in congregational life and regular worship services.
? Communicate with our congregation regarding religious exploration activities with articles in electronic newsletters, social media, worship announcements, bulletin boards, LRE information on website, periodic status reports.
? Gather and report data for RE registration, attendance, background checks, budget and expenses.
Qualifications and Competencies:
? Strong interpersonal and communication skills - written, email, phone, social media.
? Ability to plan, organize and direct activities of volunteers and staff.
? Ability to recruit, train and motivate volunteer staff.
? Experience teaching children and youth in an educational or spiritual setting, with an understanding of challenges and needs of young people.
? Ability to work in close collaboration with Minister, lay leaders and staff.
? Strong computer skills, and proficiency in social media.
? Ability to handle and prioritize a wide variety of tasks.
? Ability to partner with Minister and lay leaders to establish goals for the LRE Program.
? Demonstrated commitment to Unitarian Universalist values and principles.
? Must successfully complete a background check.
Compensation:
Minimum starting salary $24,800.
